UPDATE: Temple Police Respond to Friday Morning Shooting

TEMPLE, TX (May 14, 2020) – The Temple Police Department has arrested 21-year-old Marcus Mayes for last week’s shooting at Jones Park.

After an investigation, Mayes was identified as the suspect in the shooting. A warrant for his arrest was issued on May 9. The warrant was served May 13 at a residence in the 3800 block of Mockingbird Lane. He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Mayes was out on bond for a November 6, 2019 shooting that occurred near West Avenue M and South 17th Street. That bond was revoked with yesterday’s arrest. Mayes also had an outstanding warrant for criminal trespass.

During the warrant service, 20-year-old Tiffany Ramirez was found to be in possession of ecstasy and Xanax inside the home. She was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

 TEMPLE, TX (May 8, 2020) –The Temple Police Department responded to a shooting Friday morning near Jones Park in the 1100 block of West Avenue H.

One victim was transported to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Temple with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers believe a white Chevrolet Cruze, license plate LHB 2423, may be involved. Anyone who notices this vehicle should contact Temple Police immediately at 254-298-5500. Do not approach. The subject is believed to be armed and dangerous.
