As part of the ongoing Outer Loop Phase 3 Project, the City of Temple will shift traffic and implement detours on Old Waco Road from Tanglehead Drive to Tarver Road beginning Monday, November 4.  During this work, two-way through traffic will be moved from the existing Old Waco Road onto the newly constructed northbound lanes. This shift will allow crews to begin construction of the southbound lanes as well as build a new access point to Cameron Park Road.

Local traffic in both directions attempting to access Freedom Drive, Rickey Drive, Kevin Drive and Brandon Drive will be detoured from the new lanes of Old Waco Road onto Tarver Road and then Coastal Drive. The existing Old Waco Road between Brandon Drive and Tarver Drive will also be closed in this phase. This traffic pattern will remain in place through summer of 2020 (weather permitting).

For the next three weeks, access to and from Cameron Park Road will only be maintained from the existing Old Waco Road by using Brandon Drive. Once crews finish building a new access point (November 22, weather permitting), drivers will be able to access Cameron Park Road from the new lanes of Old Waco Road for the remainder of the project. Local businesses can still use the existing Old Waco Road for access.

As construction progresses, access will continue to be maintained for residents. Residents with inquiries about the project should reach out to the City of Temple Engineering Department at 298-5660.
