The BookAbout, Temple Public Library's bookmobile, visits Temple residents who are unable to come to the library themselves. Scheduled stops for the BookAbout include nursing homes, assisted living centers, and senior centers, as well as areas of low/fixed income and senior housing.
The BookAbout also strives to raise library awareness through activities such as visiting Temple ISD summer schools and participating in annual Career Days.
There is a diverse collection to choose from on the BookAbout! For adults, there are books in both regular and large print. Collections include fiction and non-fiction titles in both type sizes. For children, the selection includes easy reader and board book, juvenile, and young adult sections. Accelerated Reader reading levels and other useful program information is provided where possible.
DVD and VHS movies are available at some locations. Both collections offer a variety of titles to choose from.
Any questions regarding material on the Bookmobile or its scheduled stops can be directed to the Outreach Department: 298-5288 or 298-5295.
