Morning Hike by autumn_mauve
Temple is surrounded by some of the most beautiful country in the Lone Star State. Lush green prairie land gives way to scenic Lake Belton, but not before colliding with gorgeous wooded land. This diverse landscape offers the perfect habitat for many different species of wildlife. Wild deer and turkey can be seen in the Southwest portion of the city, while red fox and wild birds can be seen in the Northern portion. Take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life by enjoying a peaceful nature tour!

Here are a few ideas to get you started...
Begin your tour by relaxing on one of the cleanest lakes in Texas, Lake Belton. This lake is a favorite spot for water sports, fishing tournaments, camping, picnics or just relaxing. In addition, Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area (BLORA) provides fun with paddle boats, jet skis, a water slide, cabins and even a rustic lodge. For hikers, rock climbers, photographers and bird watchers, Miller Springs Nature Center is sure to provide a breath of fresh air!
