The Metering Department is responsible for reading and maintaining the City of Temple’s water meters.  Our goal is to read meters with accuracy and also to ensure meters are working within AWWA standards.

Accomplishments 

• Implemented large meter inventory testing

• 87% of meter inventory has been in service for 10 years or less

• Test 100% of meters that are 3” and larger

• Change 1,500 meters that have been in service for more than 10 years

• Complete assigned reading routes daily

• Continue a reading accuracy of 99% or better
