Consists of General, Juvenile, and Special Investigations Units. Under the Operations Deputy Chief, the Units are responsible for all in-depth criminal investigations.
General Investigations Unit
The General Investigations Division has the primary responsibility to investigate adult criminal offenses, apprehend offenders, recover stolen property, and seek prosecution.
Juvenile Investigations Unit
The Juvenile Investigations Unit has the primary responsibility to investigate all offenses where children under age 17 are listed as victims or suspects in a crime.
Special Investigations Unit
The Special Investigations Unit is responsible for initiation and follow-up of cases involving the suspected illegal use of narcotics and controlled substances, organized criminal activity, and miscellaneous other cases.
Specially trained and equipped Agents, along with a drug detection K-9, work within the Unit.
Crime Victims Liaison
This is a civilian position, accountable to the Investigations Division. The Crime Victim's Liaison performs all functions required of the position by State law, and works closely with the victim liaisons of the Bell County District Attorney's Office, the Bell County Attorney's Office and the Child Advocacy Center of Central Texas. The Crime Victim's Liaison insures that the needs of crime victims in our jurisdiction are understood and met, within the legal and social resources available.
