Overview
  • Enhance and encourage increased utilization by citizens of the city's website through the implementation of enhanced and additional online services. (Action Item 9.1.1)
  • Continue emphasis on providing the highest availability of computing services by maintaining high levels of server, telecomm, database, application, wireless, and network availability, enhancing network security, and increasing infrastructure redundancy. (Action Item 19.1)
  • Continue emphasis on responsive and strategic information technology services.. (Action Item 19.2)

  • Implemented Automated Bar Code and Tracking Solution for Fleet
  • Implemented Telecomm, Video Surveillance, Card Access and data services for Fire Station 8/EOC/Training Center an new Central Fire Station 
  • implementation of the Interactive Voice Response System for Citizens 
  • Implemented Enterprise Project Management Application

  • Complete Replacement of 110 Mobile Data Laptops for Police and Fire 
  • Implement new Fleet Tracking Soution for approximately 80 vehicles

Strategic Plan - Action Items

Significant Budget Issues

  • Managing total cost of ownership while planning for new technology and meeting increasing demands for complex hardware and software solutions as well as increased infrastructure due to growth in other City Departments
  • Integrating new technology with existing systems, i.e. web-based applications, electronic filing, imaging systems, mobile computers, PDAs, cellular phones and other mobile devices 
  • Prioritizing projects to enable departments to make purposeful choices about their priorities rather than funding projects in isolation from each other
