    Folklorico dancing is a great way to promote cultural awareness through music and dance. Participants will learn the fine artistic traditions of the Mexican culture in a fun and positive environment. The program is divided up into 3 classes by age and skill level.     Fun Fridays will offer activities that children enjoy most: arts & crafts, games, songs, storytelling, and more. This program gives children the opportunity to grow and develop both socially and mentally while giving mom some “me time”. Children must be at least 3 years old and fully potty trained (no diapers or pull-ups allowed). Pre-registration is required.

    Get moving to some great oldies tunes! Join this comfortable exercise program designed especially for those who have mobility issues or difficulty standing while exercising. Slow stretches and balance exercises using a chair will help tone and strengthen muscles to increase mobility and flexibility. Adaptable for all levels of mobility. An added bonus is humming along to great oldies tunes. Led by energetic instructor Kathy Patterson.

This ever-popular class is designed to teach students of all levels who wish to learn to paint and draw or just want to increase their skill level. Individual instructions based upon skill levels. No previous experience is necessary. Instructor Barbara Wilson with over 30 years of experience and proprietor of Wilson's School of Art.

  4. Circle of Friends Crochet Group

    November 26, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ Sammons Community Center

    Nothing warms a soul more than a blanket made with loving hands. Warmth and happiness abound, not only from the brightly colored crocheted blankets, but from the hearts of this unique group. This circle of friends meets once a week to create beautiful, hand-made, crocheted items which are then donated to local nursing homes and hospice centers. Donations of new skeins of yarn are always needed and appreciated.

    Feel the rhythm, feel the results! Zumba Gold is a fun approach to fitness, weight loss and muscle toning. It uses upbeat Latin music and cardiovascular exercise to create aerobic dance. The traditional Zumba formula is modified, adapting the dance moves and the pace to suit the needs of the active, older participant; as well as those just starting their fitness journey. With easy to follow moves and an invigorating atmosphere, it's the perfect exercise program for all; chair friendly for those who have physical limitations.

    Join this GIRLS ONLY enrichment group! Participants will become more self confident and improve self esteem, while learning new skills in this non-threatening environment. This group will allow your daughters a safe and fun place to be girls and develop lasting friendships! Each week will feature different activities such as cooking, arts, crafts, jewelry making, etc. The club meets every Wednesday afternoon. Instructor: Starry Counseling and Parks & Leisure Staff.

  2. Youth Tae Kwon Do

    November 26, 5:00 PM - 5:45 PM @ Raye Allen Elementary School

    Tae Kwon Do is an ancient Martial Art that originated in Korea and is more than merely a physical activity. Tae Kwon Do for youth increases attention span, builds confidence, creates discipline, and develops respect and leadership skills. This is a 6-week, 12-class session. Class meets on Mondays and Wednesdays.
