    Hundreds of wonderful selections at the Labor Day Used Book Sale! Tons of books displayed in a roomy, comfortable setting on the Library’s 3rd floor. Most books are $1.00-$2.00 and children’s books and media are less. Cash, check or charge is accepted for payment.

  1. Horseback Trail Ride

    August 30, 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM @ Leave from Sammons Community Center,horseback trail at Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area.

    Saddle up for this fun and adventurous horseback riding trip. Whether you come as a novice or as an experienced rider, you are sure to leave with great memories that will last a lifetime. There are hundreds of beautiful acres to explore, so giddy up and enjoy riding the trails. A cowboy lunch will be provided at the site.

  1. Sweatin' with the Oldies

    August 29, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM @ Sammons Community Center

    Get moving to some great oldies tunes! Join this unique exercise session designed especially for those who have mobility issues or difficulty standing while exercising. Slow stretches and balance exercise, in or at a chair, will help tone and strengthen muscles to increase mobility and flexibility. Class adaptable for all levels of physical limitations. Led by Kathy Patterson.

  2. Basic Dog Obedience Class

    August 29, 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM @ Sammons Community Center

    Older dogs can learn new tricks. This basic dog obedience class is designed for both owners and dogs. Participate in verbal commands and had signals such as sit, stay and heel, as you learn to communicate with your dog. This course is open to dogs and puppies 6 months or older. Dogs must be current on all vaccinations and be on a leash. Please bring shot records to first class. Led by Carol Burgin.

  1. Clay Play

    August 29, 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM @ Gober Party House

    Improve your child’s fine motor skills in this class all about clay! Your little one will have the opportunity to create art using cookie cutters, press molds, and free hand forms. Participants will make their own clay to take home.
