Youth Programs

  1. Little Ninjas

    September 18, 4:30 PM - 5:05 PM @ Gober Party House

    Tae Kwon Do is an ancient Martial Art that originated in Korea and is considered to be one of the best forms of exercise. Little Ninjas is for ages three to five and teaches the basics of Tae Kwon Do in a fun environment. Students learn basic moves that correspond with character building values such as respect and self-discipline. This is a 6-week session and classes meet every Thursday. Location: Gober Party House.   2. Fun Fridays

    September 19, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Gober Party House

    Fun Fridays will offer activities that children enjoy most: arts & crafts, games, songs, storytelling, and more. This program gives children the opportunity to grow and develop both socially and mentally while giving mom some “me time”. Children must be at least 3 years old and fully potty trained (no diapers or pull-ups allowed). Pre-registration is required.

  3. Munchies & Movies

    September 20, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Gober Party House

    Your child will enjoy learning basic cooking techniques as they prepare simple recipes based on their favorite cartoon characters. Other activities will include measuring, sifting, and making your own recipe cards. At the conclusion of the program we will watch a family fun movie and eat our homemade treats!

  4. Teen Leadership Training

    September 20, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Blackmon Community Center

    Would you like to learn how to secure and work a full or part-time job? This is a great opportunity for you to learn the basics and get trained to earn extra money. In this program teens will learn social interaction, time management and goal setting. Speciality training will include gift wrapping, raking leaves, and more.

  5. Tiny Tumblers

    September 22, 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ Thornton Elementary School Gym

    ome join in for a terrific time at Tiny Tumblers! Participants will jump, flip, and learn the basic movements of gymnastics. This class is designed to develop movement, flexibility, coordination and creativity using developmentally appropriate activities for beginner students.

    Tae Kwon Do is an ancient Martial Art that originated in Korea and is more than merely a physical activity. Tae Kwon Do for youth increases attention span, builds confidence, creates discipline, and develops respect and leadership skills. This is a 6-week, 12-class session. Class meets on Mondays and Wednesdays.

    Tae Kwon Do is an ancient Martial Art that originated in Korea and is considered to be one of the best forms of exercise. Training in Tae Kwon Do is more than merely physical, it helps to develop self-confidence, discipline, and a positive attitude. Tae Kwon Do offers benefits to people of all ages. Gather the family and join Family Tae Kwon Do. This class meets twice per week on Mondays and Wednesdays and the cost is per person.

    Love to Loom? We do too! Join us every Monday from 6-7:30pm for our Rainbow Loom Crew meet up. Bring your supplies and learn something new from your fellow Crew members. There is so much more you can do than just making bracelets, the possibilities are endless.

    Tap into your child’s potential by encouraging their curiosity and creativity with the Bricks 4 Kidz program. This is a hands-on class where students build machines, buildings, vehicles, and other structures out of LEGO bricks. Participants will also enhance their self-esteem, improve fine-motor skills and learn important lessons such as organization and following directions.

    September 24, 4:15 PM - 6:00 PM @ Gober Party House

    Join this GIRLS ONLY enrichment group! Participants will become more self confident and improve self esteem, while learning new skills in this non-threatening environment. This group will allow your daughters a safe and fun place to be girls and develop lasting friendships! Each week will feature different activities such as cooking, arts, crafts, jewelry making, etc. The club meets every Wednesday afternoon. Instructor: Starry Counseling and Parks & Leisure Staff.

  19. Paper Mache Kids Kraft

    September 26, 6:00 PM - September 27, 7:30 PM @ Blackmon Community Center

    It’s time to get messy with paper mache! This a great opportunity for parents and children to spend some creative quality time together, resulting in an amazing paper mache masterpiece. This is a 2-part class: Part 1 will be the paper mache crafting session. The projects will dry overnight and part 2 of the class will be decorating.
