  1. Archaeology Family Day

    August 2, 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM @ Railroad and Heritage Museum

    Always dreamed of being Indiana Jones? Well come and check out what real archaeologists do when they aren’t making movies in Hollywood. Learn about how archaeology differs from paleontology, what cool things archaeologists do both in and out of the field, and explore how things were made thousands of years ago!

  2. Kinder Kamp

    August 4, 9:00 AM - August 8, 12:00 PM @ Gober Party House

    A little music, a little dancing and a lot of fun learning! Kinder Kamp is full of activities that are designed to stimulate your child’s creativity all while having fun. Children will also enjoy a snack and a craft time at Kinder Kamp.

  3. LEGO Video Games (ages 8-10)

    August 4, 9:00 AM - August 7, 12:00 PM @ Temple College

    Combine your two favorite activities: LEGO and Video Games! Students will create your own LEGO universe, characters, and adventures in an interactive 2-D Video Game. Everyone is welcome in this one of a kind class. At the end of the program, every student will have a finished LEGO Video Game that can be shared with friends and family through a password protected website.

    August 4, 1:00 PM - August 7, 4:00 PM @ Temple College

    Combine your two favorite activities: LEGO and Video Games! Students will create your own LEGO universe, characters, and adventures in an interactive 2-D Video Game.   5. Family Sandcastle Challenge

    August 9, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Miller Park

    A fun event for the whole family to enjoy together! Pile up some sand, add some water and make your very own sandcastle. A small “kiddie pool” filled with sand will be provided, but all building tools must be brought on your own. Pictures of each Sandcastle will be posted on the Parks and Leisure Services Facebook page and voting will take place online. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 Sandcastles. A hotdog lunch will be provided for participants. Cost is $30 per family.

  6. Camp Fishbowl

    August 11, 9:00 AM - August 15, 12:00 PM @ The Fishbowl Pet Express

    This camp is designed to allow children the opportunity to have a hands on experience with animals, while meeting new friends in a fun mini-camp environment.

  7. Glam Camp

    August 11, 9:00 AM - August 15, 12:00 PM @ Gober Party House

    Enjoy photo shoots, fashion shows, nail designs, hair styles and much, much more in Glam Camp! Campers will learn about health, fitness, positive self-esteem and etiquette.

  8. Country & Western Dance

    August 14, 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM @ Sammons Community Center

    Howdy y'all! Come scoot your boots and tap your feet to great music from local country and western bands on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month. Join us in the cool, comfortable ballroom and bring a favorite finger food to share at intermission. We will provide cold drinks and coffee.

  9. Minecraft Designer (ages 8-10)

    August 18, 9:00 AM - August 21, 12:00 PM @ Temple College

    If you love the game Minecraft and always wanted to design your own characters and buildings for your games, this class is for you. Learn the basics 3D modeling using industry grade software to design your very own characters and import them into your favorite Minecraft games. Students must have Minecraft at home to import characters and a parent’s email address is required to create student accounts.
