    The Temple Railroad and Heritage Museum presents a new temporary exhibit, “Imagining the Southwest: Art of the Santa Fe,” on display until May 31, 2014. This exhibit explores how the Santa Fe Railway used art to shape and define its company image, while creating interest in the landscapes and cultures of the American Southwest. The exhibit highlights lithographic prints, calendars, posters, brochures, and advertisements from the Museum’s archive and permanent collections.

    The Temple Railroad and Heritage Museum presents “Hell on Wheels: Union Pacific Railroad Towns in Wyoming”, a new temporary exhibit on display from April 8 to August 2, 2014. The exhibit, on loan from the American Heritage Center at the University of Wyoming, weaves together historical images and first-hand accounts of life in the towns along the Transcontinental Railroad as it was built.

Tarock, recorded as one of the oldest types of card games known, is extensively played in Austria and throughout Europe.   10. Moments & Memories Benefit

    April 26, 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM @ Temple Civic Theatre

    Eight local performers, directed by actors Marjie Rynearson and Michael J. Fox, will present stories written by several Temple Literacy Council tutors and embellished by American literature additions as well as music. The Moments & Memories Reception begins at 7:00 p.m. with light refreshments; curtain is at 7:30 p.m. Requests for tickets and reservations should be emailed to templeliteracy@juno.com or called in to 254.774.7323; credit cards will be processed at the door. A suggested donation of $25 or more per person is requested to fund books and training for Bell County's new adult readers, ESL students and their volunteer tutors.
