  4. Circle of Friends Crochet Group

    Nothing warms a soul more than a blanket made with loving hands. Warmth and happiness abound, not only from the brightly colored crocheted blankets, but from the hearts of this unique group. This circle of friends meets once a week to create beautiful, hand-made, crocheted items which are then donated to local nursing homes and hospice centers. Donations of new skeins of yarn are always needed and appreciated.

    Feel the rhythm, feel the results! Zumba Gold is a fun approach to fitness, weight loss and muscle toning. It uses upbeat Latin music and cardiovascular exercise to create aerobic dance. The traditional Zumba formula is modified, adapting the dance moves and the pace to suit the needs of the active, older participant; as well as those just starting their fitness journey. With easy to follow moves and an invigorating atmosphere, it's the perfect exercise program for all; chair friendly for those who have physical limitations.

    Same as Zumba Gold offered on Mondays and Wednesdays, but for those who only have time for one day per week or want to add a third day of Zumba Gold to their weekly routine.

  13. Dog Agility Introduction

    October 24, 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM @ Sammons Community Center

    Agility training helps both dog and owner bond and develop mutual respect and communication skills as both negotiate obstacles and work through agility challenges on the course. In this introductory session, challenges will include a tunnel, shoot, tire, weave poles and jumps. As a prerequisite, all dogs must have completed a recent dog obedience course and must be at least one year old. Equipment and space are limited. Please bring current shot records to the first class. Led by Lynn Foster, an experienced trainer.

  20. "Tiffany Method" Stained Glass Class

    October 28, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Sammons Community Center

    Discover how to create a small, beautiful stained glass panel during this introductory four-week course, The Tiffany Method involves using copper foiling to solder the glass pieces together. Students will choose a pattern and glass colors; followed by learning to cut, solder, frame and polish the finished piece. Proper safety methods will be taught as well.. We will present a premier movie, maybe even a spooky one, on our large, flat screen television for all to enjoy. No tricks, just treats and freshly popped popcorn, coffee and cold drinks provided.
