Walk The Line At This Week's Hot Summer Sounds Concert

The Scott & White Health Plan Hot Summer Sounds concert series continues this week with a performance by Johnny Cash tribute artist, Bennie Wheels. This country cover performance will take place this Friday night, July 18th, in Miller Park (1919 North 1st Street) from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m.

After a successful career as an Elvis tribute artist, Bennie Wheels became drawn to the story of country music legend, Johnny Cash. In 2006, Bennie vowed to learn to play the guitar and give his best attempt as a Johnny Cash Tribute Artist. Almost immediately, Bennie realized that his vocal registry had an uncanny likeness to Johnny Cash. From the first moment Bennie hit the stage as “Johnny Cash” it was clear how natural his tribute came to him and has been performing as the Man in Black ever since.

“A full band will be backing Bennie Wheels as he delivers an uncanny tribute to Johnny Cash this Friday night,” said Holly Leiferman, Parks and Leisure Services Special Events Coordinator. “We hope you will bring the entire family to the park to enjoy some great entertainment and sing along as your favorite Johnny Cash songs are performed live.”

Hot Summer Sounds is free and open to the public. Concerts are held every Friday night at 7:30 p.m. through July 25th. For more information about the free weekly Hot Summer Sounds Concert Series presented by The Scott & White Health Plan, please visit www.templeparks.com or call (254) 298-5440.
