Forecast Calls For Texas Lightning at Hot Summer Sounds Concert

The Hot Summer Sounds Free Concert Series presented by the Scott & White Health Plan returns this Friday night, July 11th, in Miller Park (1919 North 1st Street) from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. with a classic rock performance by Temple’s own, Texas Lightning.

Texas Lightning gives an electric performance, while covering the hits from the classic rock era of the 1970’s. The music performed is from a time when sounds weren’t digitally produced or enhanced and musicians played loud, live and from the heart, just like Texas Lightning. The band has been influenced by such legendary artists and rock bands like Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton and ZZ Top.

“We are thrilled the concert series is back this week and hope you will join us at Miller Park this Friday night”, said Holly Leiferman, Parks and Leisure Services Special Events Coordinator. “Be sure to bring your friends and family, lawn chairs and snacks and rock out with Texas Lightning.”

Hot Summer Sounds is free and open to the public. Five hundred to seven hundred people are estimated to attend each concert. Concerts are held every Friday night at 7:30 p.m. through July 25th.
