Country Music Returns at This Week's Hot Summer Sounds Concert

The Scott & White Health Plan Hot Summer Sounds concert series continues this week with a performance by country singer, Kayla Ray. The concert will take place this Friday night, June 20th, in Miller Park (1919 North 1st Street) from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m.

Kayla Ray, a central Texas native, delivers country music with honesty, rawness and a touch of feminine sass. Influenced by country music legends like Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn and Tammy Wynette, Kayla Ray has developed a truly unique and captivating style that is all her own, while remaining true to her country music roots. Kayla Ray has recorded her first full length album which will release later this summer.

“Country music will be the genre at this week’s Hot Summer Sounds concert series and we are excited to hear what Kayla Ray has in store,” said Holly Leiferman, Parks and Leisure Services Special Events Coordinator. “If you love country music, or just enjoy good-quality, free entertainment come out to Miller Park this Friday night. If you don’t have time to pack a picnic before the show, you can visit one of the vendors selling food and refreshments throughout the night.”

Hot Summer Sounds is free and open to the public. Concerts are held every Friday night at 7:30 p.m. through July 25th. For more information about the free weekly Hot Summer Sounds Concert Series presented by The Scott & White Health Plan, please visit www.templeparks.com or call (254) 298-5440.
