Temple Parks and Leisure Services presents the 3rd Annual Spring Chicken 10K Race. This “chip timed” event will take place on Saturday, March 23rd at 8 a.m. The race begins and ends at West Temple Park and the route will take you along the roadways surrounding the park.

“Spring is approaching fast, what better way to get out of the house and enjoy the great outdoors than by running a 10K race,” said Tracy Klusacek, Athletic Coordinator for Temple Parks and Leisure Services. “The race course is flat and fast, which makes it a great course for those running their first 10K or the serious athlete trying to set a personal record.”

Pre-registration is $25 and closes on March 19. Race day registration will be $30. The registration fee includes a Dri-Fit shirt and access to free professional race photos. Shirts are only guaranteed to those registered by March 9.

Medals will be presented to the overall male and female winners, as well as to individuals who finish in the top three in their age group. Snack and water stations will be located throughout the course and at the finish line.

“After an extremely successful second year we anticipate continued growth in this year’s event. Several local businesses have helped to make this year’s event possible. These sponsors include: The Carlson Law Firm, H-E-B, and Camp Gladiator,” said Klusacek.
