W. Adams Ave. Bridge to I-35 South Closes Wednesday, July 30

On July 30, sometime after 7 PM, the W. Adams Avenue bridge crossing over I-35 and connecting to I-35 south will be closed permanently. This will be the beginning of an extensive construction effort in this area, which is anticipated to last three years.

City Council Names Interim City Manager

The City Council has named Jonathan Graham to serve as Interim City Manager effective August 29th to fill a position vacated by the retirement of David Blackburn. Mr. Graham currently holds the title of City Attorney.

Library Receives Grant from Texas State Library and Archives Commission

Temple City Manager David Blackburn announced July 3 that he will resign / retire from his position after August 28. Blackburn, who has served the city for the past decade in his current role and almost 30 years in local government service.

City of Temple Receives Alternative Fuels Initiative Grants

The City of Temple is the recipient of two grants from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, totaling $60,000. These grants will provide funds to off-set the purchase costs of two compressed natural gas (CNG) powered solid waste refuse trucks.
