Southern Rock Comes to Town at This Week's Hot Summer Sounds Concert

The Scott & White Health Plan Hot Summer Sounds concert series continues this week with a performance by The Brett Hendrix Band. This southern rock, country and blues performance will take place this Friday night, June 6th, in Miller Park (1919 North 1st Street) from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m.

The Brett Hendrix Band is a local Texas country, blues and southern rock band hailing from central Texas. The band performs original material along with hits made famous by Merle Haggard, Gary Stewart, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Having shared the stage with some well-known musicians such as Cory Morrow, Cody Canada, and the Departed, this group of young musicians brings an entertaining and powerful performance each and every time they take the stage.

“This week we are shifting musical gears and getting to experience some fantastic southern rock and Texas country music on Friday night,” said Holly Leiferman, Parks and Leisure Services Special Events Coordinator. “We hope you will bring the entire family to the park with a picnic supper and enjoy some great live entertainment to start your weekend off right.”

Hot Summer Sounds is free and open to the public. Concerts are held every Friday night at 7:30 p.m. through July 25th. For more information about the free weekly Hot Summer Sounds Concert Series presented by The Scott & White Health Plan, please visit www.templeparks.com or call (254) 298-5440.
