Help Wanted! Temple Parks and Leisure Seeking Lifeguards

Temple Parks and Leisure Services is currently looking to fill approximately 25 seasonal lifeguarding positions to work at local swimming facilities this summer.

“Lifeguarding is a fun and rewarding experience. If you enjoy working with people and have a love for the water, we hope you will apply,” said Aquatics Coordinator Keith Dawson. “We encourage any interested applicants to apply early and we can have them certified before the beginning of the season.”

Lifeguards are needed at five locations throughout the summer season: Lions Junction Family Water Park, Walker Pool, Clark Pool, Sammons Indoor Pool and the pool at the Summit Recreation Center. Lifeguarding experience and WSI certification are preferred; however, those who are not WSI certified are also encouraged to apply.

“Although the work can be challenging at times, we offer a fun and relaxed environment for our lifeguards to gain valuable work experience,” added Chuck Ramm, Recreation Superintendent.

Work schedule and pay rate vary by position. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age to apply. Employment applications are available on the City of Temple’s website: www.templetx.gov/jobs or in the Human Resources office located in the Municipal Building (2 North Main Street, Suite 209).
