Temple Parks Staff Advances to State Competition

Temple Parks & Recreation is pleased to announce that three staff members will advance to the Texas Recreation and Park Society (TRAPS) State Maintenance Rodeo after competing at the regional competition over the weekend in New Braunfels. The state competition will be held on February 20th in El Paso.

The Department’s Irrigation team, comprised of, David Cobb and Kenneth Chapman, placed first in the category of Irrigation, while Parks Maintenance Crewmember, Chris Waugh, placed 5th in the Mowing Obstacle Course.

“We are very proud of these three employees,” said Kevin Beavers, Director of Temple Parks & Recreation. “Each and every day they work tirelessly to make sure our parks are beautiful and functioning properly for our residents. We wish them luck at the state competition!”

The Texas Recreation and Park Society (TRAPS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that consists of approximately 2,000 parks and recreation professionals, students and citizen advocates who advance the profession of parks and recreation in Texas.
