Salute to Senior Service Program Congrats to Ms. Spurlin-Dominik

Wednesday, April 9

The Salute to Senior Service Program recognizes the contributions of adults age 65 years and older who give at least 15 hours a month volunteer service to their favorite causes. Ms. Spurlin-Dominik, a local senior, has won a Salute to Senior Service award in recognition of her outstanding volunteer service.

Ms. Linda Spurlin-Dominik
Nominated by Jessica Semon

Ms. Spurlin-Dominik is the Founder/CEO of Guardian Angles for Soldier's Pet, a national all volunteer 501(c)3 Military and Veteran Support Organization which assist our active duty service members, wounded warriors, veterans and their beloved companion animals or assistance service canines through various assistance programs. These programs included:the Military and Veteran Pet Foster Home Program, Military Pet Assistance fund and the Warrior's Angles Program (TX only). Programs are available in all 50 states and all Branches of Service including National Guard and Reserves. The Foster Home Program provides a network of approved Foster Homes across the the country who are willing to foster a companion animal whose owner is being sent overseas with no one to care for the companion animal due to deployment, peacekeeping or humanitarian mission.

She not only had the vision to create the organization, but also the daily passion to handle the day to day operations, develop new programs, wear multiple hats and guide the organization as we enter into the tenth year of service. Her daily dedication and passion for helping our military, veterans and wounded warriors is evident from the moment  you start talking to her.

To-date, because of her volunteer efforts over 550+ companion animals have been reunited with the Military Service Member post deployment/emergency hardship. Her other accomplishments include having the vision to move the National Office to Gatesville TX and purchasing 12 acres of land for the establishment of the first MVP Sanctuary which will be a place for our Solider and Veterans to socialize, spend time with their pets and house the National Headquarters for the organization. She also developed and planned the foundations for the Warriors' Angles program, which will support our service members and veterans diagnosed with PTSD need specially trained assistance canine enhancing the service member/veteran's quality of life.

She does all this with a smile on her face, a passion in her voice and a deep dedication to give back to our military.

We hope that you can join us at this event to honor this amazing adult who has given so much of her time and talents to a make a difference in our community.
