  4. Canton Day Trip

    February 27, 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM @ Gober Party House

    What started more than a century ago as just a flea market has become home to some of the most original home furnishings, collectibles and crafts that cannot be found anywhere else. Make plans to join us for a day trip to First Monday Trade Days in Canton to enjoy a shopping experience like no other. Van will leave at 7 a.m. from the Gober Party House and return at 8 p.m. Transportation and a light breakfast snack are provided, but shopping and meals are on your own. Space is extremely limited.

  5. Vegetable Gardening 101

    Learn all the basic information necessary to begin one of the most popular outdoor hobbies. Growing your own vegetable garden is fun, flavorful and fulfilling. Here’s a taste of what you will learn about in this program: planning your garden, weather & seasons and of course, planting and maintaining your garden. Instructor: Bell County Master Gardeners.

  1. Little Ninjas

    February 26, 4:30 PM - 5:05 PM @ Gober Party House

    Tae Kwon Do is an ancient Martial Art that originated in Korea and is considered to be one of the best forms of exercise. Little Ninjas is for ages three to five and teaches the basics of Tae Kwon Do in a fun environment. Students learn basic moves that correspond with the character-building values such as respect and self-discipline.This is a 6-week session, class meets every Thursday. Location: Gober Party House.   2. T-Ball Day

    February 28, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM @ A.J. Mercer Complex

    This camp is designed to teach young baseball and softball players the fundamentals of the game. Participants will learn the basics of catching, throwing and batting in a fun atmosphere. All campers need to bring a glove. Personal bats and other equipment are optional. Please label all equipment.

    Scoot your boots or tap your feet to the great music of local country and western bands on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month. For each dance you are encouraged to bring a favorite finger food to share and we will provide the coffee and punch at the intermission. No membership is required, $5. each at the door. Singles and couples are all welcomed.

    Get fit and stay fit! Join our energetic instructor in this low-impact, core-strengthening program designed to improve balance, flexibility, coordination and range of motion. Experience a unique fitness program using light hand weights and elastic bands to strengthen the body and focus on functional fitness. Stretching exercises complete this well-rounded workout.

    For those who vowed to learn a new art form this year, grab your brushes and join our creative, motivational instructor in this progressive art class. This ever-popular art class is designed to teach students of all levels who wish to learn to paint and draw or just want to improve their skills. Individual instruction based upon skill levels. No previous experience necessary. Instructor: Barbara Wilson, proprietor of the Wilson School of Art, with over 30 years of teaching experience.

    Explore writing as a craft and art form, while focusing on your own writing. Enroll in this unstructured class and fine tune your writing skills, while putting your memories and thoughts on paper. Gain constructive input from your peers in this very interactive and progressive course. Led by Retired English Literature Professor Pruitt Davis.

    Improve your zest for life! Lift your spirits and lower your stress levels as you achieve physical and mental benefits from simple, functional and easy-to-follow movements in a soothing atmosphere. Improve your balance, range of motion, strength, flexibility and joint mobility, while keeping your mind active and alert. Chair-friendly for those with limited mobility. Led by certified senior yoga instructor Janelle Novosad.

    Feel the rhythm, feel the results! Enjoy the moves in this fun approach to fitness, weight loss and muscle toning! Zumba Gold uses upbeat music and cardiovascular exercise to create an aerobic dance. The traditional Zumba formula is modified, adapting the dance moves and the pace to suit the needs of the active, older participants. With easy-to-follow moves and an invigorating, party-like atmosphere it is the perfect exercise program for all. Chair friendly for those with physical limitations.
