Library Mission Statement
The mission of the Temple Public Library is to strengthen and enrich the community by providing assistance and instruction in locating and evaluating information needed for self-directed personal growth, satisfying leisure experiences, and cultural understanding.

The BookAbout, Temple Public Library's bookmobile, visits Temple residents who are unable to come to the library themselves. Scheduled stops for the BookAbout include:

Areas of low/fixed income
Assisted living centers,
Nursing homes
Senior centers
Senior housing 


The BookAbout also strives to raise library awareness through activities such as visiting Temple ISD summer schools and participating in annual Career Days.

Books Offered

There is a diverse collection to choose from on the BookAbout. For adults, there are books in both regular and large print. Collections include fiction and non-fiction titles in both type sizes. For children, the selection includes easy reader and board book, juvenile, and young adult sections. Accelerated Reader reading levels and other useful program information is provided where possible.


DVD and VHS movies are available at some locations. Both collections offer a variety of titles to choose from.
